Answers to Frequently Asked Questions
* Rise is based in southern California and
DOES NOT
charge any performance fees for local events. (Local=within about 100 miles of
Los Angeles)
*We are willing to and have traveled around the United States. Distant events
must be planned well in advance and we will have to negotiate travel expenses.

* Travel-We have no intention of turning this music ministry into a business venture. We can
not, unfortunately, absorb all travel costs though. We originally tried to and it
became too taxing on our families, finances and vacation time from work.

* Rise has a lot of experience and prides themselves on their positive attitudes
and willingness to bend over backwards for promoters. There are enough "rock
star" attitudes in the arena already, so you won't get that from us.
* We also understand that most Church concert promoters are doing it for the
first time and do not have a lot of experience. That is O.K.! We have plenty of
contacts that we can refer you to for direction and advice.

Requirements for Out of State Events
TRAVEL/ ACCOMMODATIONS
Ø Round Trip Airfare for 4 from Los Angeles Area to location
Ø Hotel/Motel-2 Rooms (Preferably adjoining and non-smoking) double occupancy
Ø Rental Car, Cab Fare, or other transportation arrangements to/from Hotel/Motel
to/from Airport, to/from sound check, to/from concert/s.
Other than the above expenses, Rise does not charge a stipend/performance fee. We do request the
ability to sell CD’s/Shirts at the event. A local volunteer to man the CD sales
table for us is always appreciated.
Since traveling takes time away from our families, we try to minimize this by
preferably arriving on Friday, performing Saturday and returning home on Sunday.
We understand that all events can not be on Saturday, as with everything in
life, these things are negotiable.
Equipment Needs for Distant Shows
P/A SYSTEM
Ø P/A appropriate for Concert Venue
Ø Sound Board w/ competent Sound Technician
Ø Powered Floor/Stage Monitors for Artist
DRUMS
Minimum 5 piece (acoustic) drum set with:
Ø Bass Drum and Bass Drum Pedal
Ø Snare Drum
Ø 2 Toms
Ø 1 Floor Tom
Ø Hi-Hat
Ø Ride Symbol and hardware
Ø Minimum 2 crash symbols and hardware
Ø Extra Drum Skins should be available should a break occur
*Drums need to be appropriately miked and mixed through Sound Board and P/A
System. Set must be o.k.'d by our drummer Mike Partain prior to event.
ACOUSTIC GUITAR SET-UP
Ability to direct input through Sound Board to P/A System
ELECTRIC GUITAR SET-UP
Promoter will rent/borrow 1 (one) of the below amp, listed in order of
preference-
Ø Fender, Ultimate Chorus DSP Guitar Amp, or
Ø Fender 65 Twin Reverb Guitar Amp, or
Ø 1 Marshall Pro-Lead Head/minimum 50 Watts, with 1 Marshall Cabinet with 4x12” Speakers
*Amp needs to be appropriately miked and mixed through Sound Board and P/A
System
BASS SET-UP
Ø 1 Bass Amplifier w/ Ability to direct connect head to sound
board/ P/A system or mike speakers to sound board/P/A system, if
no bass amp is available the bass can go direct to the P/A system
VOCAL MICROPHONES AND STANDS
Ø 4 Vocal Microphones (Preferably ‘Shure SM58’)
Ø 3 microphone stands upstage for singer, guitarist and bass player (boom type
preferred)
Ø 1 boom microphone stand for drummer
CORDS, ETC
Enough Guitar and Microphone Cords of sufficient length and enough direct boxes
to connect all instruments to amps and microphones to sound board and P/A
* Rise will supply our own guitars, effects pedals/processors, stomp boxes, drum
sticks.
